The Clio turbo has its last evening session of the year, massive turn out for this one, sadly i did a poor job of recording it all. Finally got Dave on track for the first time too!

So after hitting the Ring with basically no knowledge at all of the track, a few laps in i managed to get under a 9 minute lap (on a yellow too). Think the only reason i managed this was due to the power, next time suspension upgrades, fuel upgrades, brakes and more importantly get some knowledge of the track!!

A quick video of the trip over to the ring including track footage. Had a fantastic time trying to get my clio round the Nurburgring with no knowledge of the road. The weather was fantastically hot, great for me but not for the car. But we made it there and back without issue and with 6 laps under my belt i finally got under 9 minute lap with a Yellow flag. Hi Steffrallye,exelent video. But please l need help.Was making the clutch and the timing belt in a same time. Now timing belt is in but was loosing the timing on the clutch. How to find where exektly should be the tooth on the clutch???
When you say clutch do you mean the crank location? The crank has a locking pin that I've shown in the video from memory

How do you know if the slave cylinder ext needs changing? Also could u show us how u bleed them
can I ask? Is the noise from the camshaft any problem with the oil distribution? Is it happening around the oil pump?
Hey. Sorry don't completely understand what your asking Sorry. A clio sport has a Dephaser pulley which can fail but that's just wear. Top end damage can be due to poor oil pressure for several reasons.

is there any brembo model that can fit a 16" wheel?
This setup is made for 16" with a 300mm disc. I had 5mm machined off the calipers and 5mm off the brackets and used 280mm discs to fit under 15"

Hi mate, nice work. Do you reckon these calipers would be suitable for a 325mm rotor? Want to fit them to Nissan 300ZX.

Anything over 220bhp doesn’t work on a fwd on the track especially.
Well its been at 330+ for a few years, tbf it took some time and fettling but she handles it well now. Lots of suspension tweets was needed. On a tight short circuit she isn't to good, it's either all wheel spin or lack 😂 but most proper tracks it's all good
Steff are you still on here? Need ask you how you cleaned out the block, ie getting any little bits of metal out of the oil ways??? 😀
Hey, yer I'm still about just haven't made any videos for a long time. I filled a large tub with water soluble degreaser, opened up any oil ways I could and let the block soak over night. Then with a bottle brush and a large syringe I cleaned and flushed out the passages the best I could, I replaced my head but if yours is fine then it would be the same job. Then once built after a short run in period change that oil and filter

It's the original badges, I resprayed them with a bmw grey if I remember. Thank you
Which coilover to use on Clio 2
All depends what you want from the cad, but mines now mainly track based and I'm using BC DS coilovers with the track spec springs,
Usually when you do the clutch you clean the flywheel or better yet it has it rectified by modifying it slightly, I hope you did
Flywheel is normally just cleaned down with some brake cleaner to remove contamination
@@Steffrallye If you want to do a good job on the flywheel you have to bring it to the grinding, making a small modification in order to avoid jerky starts.

Hey, I use to have it, but it's removed at the time of this video and replaced with a cup style setup

Why did u let the gearbox oil out
Because when you remove the driveshafts the oil will be released, and when I remove the box it would pour everywhere

Nice job but unfortunately those adapters are illegal - no homologation = can not be used on the road.

Hi mate I need to put bottom pulley back on after engine rebuild(don’t ask why it wasn’t put back on) Can I just remove that bolt and put it back on or not ?
Hey sorry for the late reply , the time will need pinning unless you've for a key way cambelt pulley. (There not standard) otherwise the timing can jump

Great video, I understood now watching my technician work on my vehicle. Would this engine mount in a Laguna mk2 petrol phase 1 with an automatic transmission. My current engine is a F4P775. In stock form the 172 is making decent hp and it would make for interesting spirited driving.

Hi bud what did you use to push the pistons back tried using a c clamp but cant them back it just comes out when I release it. Have tried loosening brake line aswell. Thanks
Hey, I cant remember when doing this, but when I change pads i just use an old pad or a thin block and lever the pistons back both sides together,

Hey, yer I havent done much for awhile but I still see them 😄 no no the crank is fully floating standard and the cams are locked but the tools
@@Steffrallyeso it doesn't matter where the cam gears are as long as the crank and cams are locked with the pin and tool? Busy with Renault scenic 2 2.0 non turbo but engine looks the same and cam gears
@fieliesvanzyl3633 if the pulleys are floating (no key way) then yes it doesn't matter. The timing is locked at the cams and crank with the tools. Belt on then tension. And then lock the cams/crank with the bolts and your timing is not locked in position when you remove the tools
